car will not stay running
hi guys so for the past month ive been having issues with my 91 camaro rs 305. at first it was just back firing not often just once in a while when i stepped on the gas hard. now for the past week or so when i come to a stop light the car sounds like it is gonna just die it doesnt always do it but i have to give it gas to keep it running. then today i went outside to go run errands and it started ran really really rough then died. while giving it gas it sound extremly funky and the only way to keep the car on is to keep it at high rpms and putting it into gear it jsut dies. my dad and i were looking at the where the fuel is dumped into the tbi the left side if ur on the oustide of the car is awlays throwing alot of fuel but the right is only if u really give it gas or it jsut lightly gives some so often. not sure what the problem could be i jsut replaced the fuel fliter last week. any help would be great sorry for spelling.

Re: car will not stay running
How was it running prior to the fuel filter replacment? Clogged injectors maybe? Have you run any kind of injector cleaner through them? When is the lst time you had a tune up (carp, rotor, plugs and wires)?
Re: car will not stay running
well i did a tune up i would say around feb. i changed the fuel filter because i was getting a backfire here and there and my car was hesitant. for instance i could try to climb a hill to get on the freeway and it would be very weak unless i slammed it. it then would backfire and regain the power.

May or may not help to dump a couple of bottles of Techron in the gas tank.
May or may not help to have the injectors professionally cleaned at a shop.
You may need a replacement injector, or disassembly of the injector from the pod to clean a clogged screen on the injector.
At any rate, if it's squirting fuel at all, it's likely that the electrical signal to the injector is there, but the injector is incapable of providing fuel in the quantity needed.
