350 Conversion?

I found a 350 TBI motor from a 1990 z28 and was curious if the motor is a straight drop into my 92 camaro rs 305? What changes do I need? The motor has 50K original miles and he wants $800 for the motor.

Re: 350 Conversion?

Engine drops right in. May have slightly-different sensors or molded connectors for wire ends.

Still need different tune parameters in the computer. (so maybe take the computer and wire harness from the '90) For $800, the guy should throw that stuff in with the engine.

I expect you'll find the weak points eventually.

There is no such thing as a 350 TBI from a '90 Z28. GM never put TBI 350's into f-body's.

Better check that engine carefully before purchasing to know exactly what you are buying.

Re: 350 Conversion?

Need bigger injectors, a few different sensors, a tune.

But, as I asked in one of your 12 other threads in the past 2 weeks, did you ever figure out the starting issue before you go swapping engines? Hopefully you'll read the advice in this thread before you change your mind and go jumping off to another thread again...
