tbi swap
hi I just came into posession of a tbi system from a 4.3 v6.
how hard would it be adapt it to run a 5.0 v8 the v6 was in a 1989 s15 jimmy
and it would go in a currently carburated 83 camaro
any advice would be appreciated.

Re: tbi swap
Not too difficult. Need larger injectors and an ECM calibration for an 8-cylinder. Some of the ECMs were used on both 6 & 8's, so an 8-cylinder calibration should be available. Others were only used on 6's, so an ECM swap is required.
The only thing to keep in mind is that tuning is going to be required. The GM TBI systems, with the exception of Caddies, ran SBC engines with swirl port heads. A '83 SBC is not and will require more spark advance to run right.
