TBI rebuild

Car: 91 Firebird/92 GTA
Engine: 9C1 350 TBI/L98 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.42 Gov-Lock/3.23 Posi
TBI rebuild
I tried the search function but still have doubts so IŽl go ahead and ask you guys.
IŽll be rebuilding my TBI unit this weekend, I already bought GP SorensenŽs rebuild kit, and will take my injectors to be cleaned by a professional.
What I want to know is how do you guys clean your TBI? When dealing with carbs I would just soak it for a few hours in Carb cleaner, can I do the same with the TBI? My vacuum ports are filled with gunk.
Is there any other way you would do it?
My brother uses some kind of acid on his carbs when rebuilding them, he said he would clean this for me if it was OK for the TBI to go there, I just donŽt know what kind of "acid" he uses.
