454 TBI questions

I'm planning to rebuild a 350 with Vortec heads. However, I want to keep it TBI. The factory throttle body isn't large enough. So I was thinking about buying a 454 throttle body for it. Would it work? I know I would need to bore out the manifold to 2 inches. Is there anything else to worry about?

Re: 454 TBI questions

Ideally the bores of the intake manifold must at least match the ones of the TB.

TGO member dctrumpet should have everything you need to switch over to the 454 TB, on he's ebay store.

Re: 454 TBI questions

Match the injectors to the build. 454 injectors are likely too big.

You'll need a custom tune for new tb as well.

Re: 454 TBI questions

I have run a 7.4L TB with 75 lb injs on my 350 for years.

If fact I just bought all needed to go to port fuel. I will hav the holley projection manifold, TB, and injectors for sale soon. Just need to find a few $$$ to replace what I stole out of my savings/retirement account

Wow... I'll highly consider this. What kind of throttle body do you use?

I usually run Marine throttle bodies I have adapted over. They have 2" bore late model 454 style castings and 30 psi regulators.
