Can someone tell me on an 89 firebird 305 tbi automatic car what the intake manifold bolts would be? I've heard torx but mine are normal bolts. I'm wondering which cause I wanna know if mine has been messed with and changed out, but it looks totally stock and evenly as dirty as the rest of the engine.

 

Who cares as long as they're the right length and properly tightened?

 

I care, hence the reason I asked and I stated why I'm asking. If they are SUPPOSED to be torx and are not then that means she's been apart and the owner lied to me. Otherwise I understand what you are saying but it's still a valid question.

 

Intake manifold bolts should a combination of standard SAE grade bolts and studs. Size 3/8"-16 x 1-1/4" Head size is 9/16" (or 12 point 14mm will work in pinch). OE GM bolts have a circle on its head surface.
