'88 350 4 bolt TBI from truck to '88 IROC-Z that has 305 TBI

Wondering if there's anything performance wise different or anything for that matter from a 350 that's in a truck as opposed to a car. Looking to make this swap without getting crazy horsepower. Be a daily driver/cruiser. Maybe a mild cam. I've seen a few posts, would it be worth changing the heads or just get them ported and polished? Don't know all the ins and outs of engine work but have some help, and looking for some good advice.

Main difference in the block is that the truck block may not be drilled for the roller cam accessories but could be adapted. Other than that a block is a block (mostly) the rest is what matters in performance

92 suburban 350 block in my car. Was planted in place of the 305 TBI back in 2010 when it went out. Kept the 187 heads, got them cleaned up, intake valves opened up to 2.02, port polished. Went with the Edelbrock TBI Intake Manifold, and a Mild-Moderate "RV" Cam. I have Hooker Headers going out to the flowmaster catback, Love it!!! smogs in california too ;P

Rbobs EBL Flash is a MUST!

Can you get 305 ECU re programmed for 350 or do you have to get 350 ECM for 350 engine?

When I did a 305 to 350 tbi swap in my truck I changed the injectors, knock sensor, and prom in the computer to one's from a 350

Well I'm taking out 305 TBI and replacing with complete 350 but don't have 350 ECU yet. Just going to use complete 350 set up with some adjustments to make it work in my car. But probably easier to get proper ECU for a 350?

I am not 100% sure on the cars but in trucks the actual computer is the same from 305 to 350 just the chip inside needs changed. PM TunedPerformance he was very helpful and knowledgeable when I did the swap.

So by putting mild cam in didn't have to change anything really?

And just curious how much HP these cars can handle with just stock set up

To get the most from your cam and optimal performance a custom tune would be the way to go but by swapping the chip to a stock 350 it should at least run
