Bosch Platinum +4 plugs, I'd be PO'ed...
If I had paid $6 a plug for these I'd BE PISSED. One of my friends got some as a promo for something or another and they didn't offer any for his Honda, so he snagged some for my van. What a crock. I thought what the hell I'll try 'em. The only difference I see is a crappier idle, and worse acceleration on the highway.
HA! I think I'll stick with my Champion Truck Plugs.

The +4s were in my car when I bought it. Took those out and replaced them with regular AC Delco.

If a plug makes your car run better then you have an ignition problem.
The best plugs for a 3rd gen are autolites or Delcos. Just the $1.50 ones thatn k you.
If you want the best igintion system out there then you'll want to add a FAST eDIST. It uses one coil per cylinder like the LS1s and does makea difference. My car is a DIS, and starts much easier, better response, and lower throttle opening for cruise, and it uses old A/Cs

Well, I'm not saying that it took off a second on the quarter, just they are not running worse , so they have got to be doing better. I heard about a magazine that did a test with them and they got something like 2-3 horsepower. So, I don't know.
if you get any major gain in power from a spark plug there are other issues going on in your ignition.
i run the +4's because i got a set for free once and when i installed them i got about +1mpg and my car passed emissions with no other tune up(with no functioning smog equipment). i think they are good for that, i can't say the throttle response or power feels any different from when i used to take all the tiem in the world to index my old autlites. i do appreciate the extra mileage though. ove rhte course of a year they pay for them selves i think.

I used to have bosch's, and all they did for me was give my car a crappy idle. one of my friends just put them on his 98 eclipse and promptly took them off and replaced them for the stock recommended plugs. I just cannot justify $4 a plug for a crappy idle, when i can get AC Delco's for much cheaper with better idle quality.

I ran Bosch Platinum +4 plugs in my RS. The new plugs seemed to help as the mpg went up a little. My old AC plugs had something like 35,000 miles on them so it was time for a tune up.
If you wanting the best performance platinum plugs aren't the ticket in most cases because the platinum doesn't produce as hot a spark as a copper plug. I do think the +4's are better than the other platinum plugs, also with a +4 there isn't any need to index.
For my LS1 car it's NGK TR55's, these also work really well in LT1's. I'll try them in the RS if I can salvage the car.

I'm with Grumpy. More than a buck-fitty per plug is not smart. Replace them once a year at the Summer oil change and you are good to go. Put the used 1-year old ones in the beaters and they'll last aonther year, EASY!
Best plugs I've used are Autolites. Had them in my race car and only replaced them because I would remember to... they never fouled out, never burnt the tips of with the nitrous..... NO PROBS !!!
Autolites or AC delcos, thats it !

I don't understand the point of having four electrodes on there. The spark will follow the path of least resistance, not the four paths of least resistance.

If one of those dudes is just .01 closer than the others, then guess where the spark is gonna jump to?
And even if you could get them all exactly the same, wouldn't having 4 prongs kinda shroud the tip, kinda like a combustion chamber does to the valves?
If they really wanna make a great plug, (gonna give my new invention secret away here
) then they should make the tip and the prong the same length to each other so that the spark is at the tip of the two. You know, so they're equal in length from the plug. And then the spark will have more of an open shot at the air/fuel mixture.Kinda like this exploded view
That'd work if they could make it strong enough.

Edit:Just realized that you can just buy a Bosch +4 and cut the other 3 prongs off, and you'd have this.
