No fuel at TBI
I have read a lot of posts about this and I am pretty sure I have a failed fuel pump but just want a second opinion . The pump comes on when I first turn the key for about 2 seconds then stops. I have checked the fuses and removed the filter. I then installed the adapter to read the fuel pressure in place of the filter. I get the same amount of fuel out of the Schrader valve with the key on or off. It's looks like it's just gravity feeding out of the tank. The car ran fine the last time I drove it about two years ago and will also run if you put gas in the TBI manually. I appreciate any suggestions.

Is the Delco ep241 the pump that most recommend? I want to put a good one in to limit having to do this again in a couple years.

You should be fine with any name brand replacement with a stock car. You might even find a plugged sock in the tank when you get the pump out. At that time though since you are there may as well replace it.

And there's the rubber hose in the tank. If it splits, the pump can run all day and you'll get no pressure.
The 241 is the factory pump for TPI cars I believe. Lots of TBI folks switch to that. While you'll never need the PSI it can build, the TBI is particular about wanting a pretty narrow band of pressure. Having an excess assures you don't run out.
It is reportedly a little noisier though.

Definitely more noisy. About 50% more whine when I went from the TBI pump to whatever came in the 96+ vortec trucks. But who cares, you're inside the car lol.

How old are your injectors and put some fresh gas in the tank.

Re: No fuel at TBI
I did siphon all the old fuel out last fall when I realized that life got in the way and I'd be unable to get the car ready. I then top off with fresh fuel for storage over the winter. I wish now that I'd only put 5 gallons of fuel in it instead of filling it up. Thanks for all the replies. I'll be dropping the tank this weekend and replacing the pump. I'll let you all know how that works out for me.

Boy life keeps getting in the way with this car. Finally with the family vacation coming to an end.The tank got dropped pump got replaced and the car fired right up. The pump itself was the problem. Thanks again for all the input.
