What is the governer set at on our TBI 305 cars? I have an 88, if that makes any difference. Is it higher, or lower than 100? I guess there is only one way for me to find out, but it would be a little easier for someone to just tell me.

It should be at 110mph

 

i swear i hit 120 one time, but i think my gauge was a bit off. i think its around 105-115

 

AXKS eprom has it set at 108 and 106 resume. It's around 110

 

I heard that Camaros Make it up to 128MPH or something..

 

The speed limiter is set to 115mph on Base Firebird/ Camaro RS models. I have pegged it many a time. Now I go right on by it with the new chip.

 

oh, by the way, there is no need to get a chip to get rid of this limiter. there's a tech article on how to turn it off with just a simple radio shack switch

 

The ANTT bin has the 115 cut off and 110 resume that's with the auto. AXKW bin has the 108 and 106, that's with a stick. I don't have the other eproms to check but if you send me the other bin files I'll look.

 

i am almost positive that i hit ~120 one time. i know that it "shouldn't" be possible, but i remember doing it. i didnt get a good look at the speedo though because i was too intent on making sure i didn't end up wearing my friend's jeep as a hood ornament. but i DO know that it was past the 115 and nearing about where the 120 should have been.

i could be wrong though.

i had my 88 TBI well past the 115 mark...its an auto and it went past the 115 and pegged on the trip meter...and my rpms were still going up so i figured i was going faster...all this in 3rd gear...is 3rd convered or just 4th?
