Dual TBI problems

start and run with winaldl hooked up
I have a 1982 TransAm 305 vin 7 car. It through a code 42 & 44 and I cant seem to find out why. Fuel pressure is good and when I hook up my winaldl and OBD Diagnostics inc serial cable the car runs ok and starts on first crank.when not hooked up it cranks for ever and runs like crap. I still have the codes. I have replaced the Ignition module cap rotor wires and EGR valve with no change. I have looked for vacume leaks and bad grounds. I have noticed when I first put the key to on, the fuel pump runs for about 5 secs and the #2 TB injector sprays fuel but the #2 injector does not , yet when the car does run booth injectors work normally. any thoughts would be appreciated.

key on engine off, injectors should not be spraying at all. might be a good idea to take injectors in and get them tested /serviced. how many PSI for fuel pressure?

Faulty (leaking) injector
Faulty (grounded) wire harness
Faulty ECM

The injectors must not spray fuel until the ECM gets an "engine turning" signal from the pickup coil via the ignition module.

Re: Dual TBI problems

Turns out I had two bad ACEL ignition modules. Replaced with Delco and injector problem went away. Replaced O2 sensor and lean mixture went away. I now have no check engine light but still have a backfire problem when I advance throttle through about 1/4 but engine runs fine above and below that will check TPI next.
