TBI gurus...feasibility of dual TBI units?
I was just thumbing through the Summit catalog and saw an 8-71 kit for SBCs. I know people are, or have talked about setting them atop a 142/177cid roots blower, but could you run a dual TBI setup?
I know it sounds dumb, but spending 1500-1800 for a "little satin blower" when I could get a nice polished one for $2500 kinda gets to me.
I'm getting to be a TBI fan--it seems it be fairly cost effective performance-wise, as compared to my TPI.

there are a few guys who are working on this kind of thing i think, no one really has anything solid yet as far as i know though. the biggest problem i have heard of is that splitting teh wires to the injectors also splits the voltage, which mean s a weak signal to both sets of injectors.
also there is teh issue of controlling the fuel pressure, you will have to figure out a way to run no regulators on the tb's and put a regulator on teh return line after teh second tb, that will keep both injector sets fed very well if you run a little oversized line(AN-6 line shoudl be big enough)
teh rest of the sensors and stuff shoudl all work exactly the same. you will have to put a vacuum line into the base manifold to get pressure to the map sensor, but that is no problem.

Secondary TBI?
What about having a secondary TBI design? Like that 900 CFM thing I saw?
I would think that the hardware is available now, but nobody has developed it yet for the TBI setups we have.
What if someone got in touch with Holley and tell them of the continuing success of the 502-6 on the TBI F-Bodys, why not have a new 4-barrel version?
Could that be done? I forsee it if we get enough attention!
With the success we've had so far, there are more TBI enthusiasts around than ever before!
This also can wake up people with "Hopeless" TBI configurations.
I think the 670 is enough for me, but yes, for the dragstrip, I could imagine a new design implimented for the ECM's we have.
I happened to stumble on this Forum because I was thinking about doing this with the Holley Unit. Nobody told me about it beforehand.

It was scary and everyone told me it won't work. Jon Prevost eased my mind then for he was building a similar setup!
I don't see why they couldn't just move themselves in that direction!
Thank goodness for him, and the others that have helped me go through the agony. I was really afraid I was flushing money down the toilet.
Before all this, I knew jack squat about my car. Going through the engine swap with Walt (An ASE Chevy Mechanic, 20 years in) He even told me I was NUTS because there was nobody that has proven it will work!
We have proof now!
Is there a way us F-Body people can get more attention to make TBI a reality? YES. We're here!
Manufacturers like Edelbrock and Holley want our money! I am sure we are making an impact now. To convince them to bring TBI to the next level shouldn't be so hard!

The dual TBI setup was avaliable from turbocity but they stopped carrying it because it hadn't sold very well. The picture my still be up on the site. It's all polished and the tb's are sitting on top an Offy intake. I believe that they still convert the wiring harnesses but no longer sell the kit.

or you could go the simpler and more cost effective, not to mention easier to tune dual carb setup that edelbrock makes.they have a cool kit available that makes it really simple to hook up 2 performer carbs to their dual carb intake.there was an article in a super chevy i believe a few months ago.looks like a sweet and relatively inexpensive setup.and it was damn good on tuning ease and even milage!
