Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
HIGH IDLE HELP!
OK guys Im having an issue with the 1992 RS
it has a 305 tbi with manaul trans and on a cold start the idle starts around 1500 RPM like it should and then comes down to about 750RPM like it should he problem is if I don't turn the car off and back on once it warms up after driving a few miles the idle gets stuck at 1500 and surges in the 1300-1600 range untill the car is turned off and back on again ... it's almost like something is getting stuck... I tried swapping pretty much everything TBI base gasket TBI injector pods New IAC motor I checked and replaced the vacuum lines where needed ... does anyone have any ideas??

Cruise control engaging when it shouldn't? Disconnect cruise cable from throttle lever, see what happens.
Connect scan tool, look at the data stream. What is the commanded idle speed vs. actual idle speed when the engine is idling too high, and surging?
