305 TBI no fuel spray from injectors

I have an 88 firebird with a TBI 305. ran fine a few months ago when i got it but now it'll crank but no fuel. it has a brand new fuel tank, fuel filter and injectors and i just put in a new ecm and it still didn't solve the problem. i know i have fuel getting up to the injectors but the arent spraying so im sure its an electrical issue. It had a code 54 on the engine which was for faulty fuel pump wiring, a faulty fuel pump or a bad ecm but i assumed it was the ecm. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is your fuel pressure when the pump primes as you turn the key on?

What is the fuel pressure when you crank the engine and build oil pressure?

Are all the fuses good? Do you have power to the injectors?

Do you have spark? No spark, no injector spray is often a failed pickup coil or ignition module (or faulty wiring.)

Don't assume. Diagnose.

Re: 305 TBI no fuel spray from injectors

I haven't checked the fuel pressure yet, wouldn't i still have some spray from the injectors if i had low fuel pressure?

All the fuses are good, when i got the car a few were the wrong amperage so i replaced them and they're still good. I have no power to the injectors though

I have spark for sure i could get it to fire a couple times with some starting fluid.

You'd have no spray if you had NO fuel pressure. Test fuel pressure at prime (key on, should have pressure for two seconds--verifies that prime section of the ECM, fuel pump relay, fuel pump, and associated wiring and plumbing is good), and with the engine cranking enough to build oil pressure (verifies that you have oil pressure, the oil pressure switch, fuel pump, and associated wiring and plumbing is good.)

No power? Or no GROUND? Did you TEST them for power? The injectors should be powered at key-on. The ECM controls the ground to make them spray.

Given a choice, I'd drizzle some gasoline down both sides of the TBI unit, and see if it RUNS for a few seconds.

With the key on there is no power to either side of the injectors, i tested it with a multimeter

Start at your injector 1 and 2 fuses under the dash. Should have battery voltage there with the key on.

Will try that next, if i have no voltage there what would that mean? or if i do have voltage there but not at the injectors?

If you have voltage at the fuses, but not at the injectors, there's a problem in the wiring between the two spots. If you lack voltage at the fuses(with the key ON...LOL) then you have a problem between the source and the fuses. Could be a bad fusible link...

Do you not have an 88 FB GM service manual? You can get one off of eBay cheap and would help out a lot in troubleshooting the issue using the diagrams etc...

Perform the tests that have already been suggested. Post the results.

checked for voltage at the fuses and it has no power, all the wiring seems to be fine, are there any other tests i can do now?

Get a wiring diagram, trace the wires back from fuses to ignition switch to battery. Find out where the power stops, then fix it.

Fusible links can be bad and not look bad. Not sure on an 88, but on my 90, the injector fuses are powered by a fuse link at the junction block by the battery on the side of the core support by the radiator.

Just curious if you figured out your problem? I am having a similar issue with a vehicle that I purchased recently.

Re: 305 TBI no fuel spray from injectors

for me it ended up being the pickup coil in the distributor. thought i had spark but i for sure didn't. replaced the whole distributor because it was very nasty and i also had some dirty grounds i cleaned and it fired right up.
