Temporary fuel delivery for 91 305 TBI
Temporary fuel delivery for 91 305 TBI
Hello everyone,
I have a 91 Camaro RS 305 TBI, it's sat for close to 4 years while I saved up to start building it out (project car). I put in a fresh battery, Distributer and CAP are new (less than 2 years because I had to move it once). It starts prefect (surprisingly) and almost tries to idle when spraying some engine start in so I'm thinking there's about a 99% chance that the fuel pump is bad, especially since it doesn't do the tell tale buzz when I turn the key on.
My question is, is there any way that I can throw together some type of temporary fuel delivery/pump setup so that I can move it? It has to be put on to a trailer and taken to another location and where it's currently parked it's going to be a PITA if I have to get something to it to pull it or if I have to try to pull the fuel tank.
would it be as easy as using a transfer pump somewhere in the 10-15 psi range connected directly to the fuel input pulling out of a gas can? or is there going to be something a little more complicated than that? does the temporary fuel container itself need to hold pressure?
Thank you

You can fab up a "boat tank" with some hose and a 10psi pump. Some power them off a drill battery. I wouldn't drive this way, but see no harm to use it to get it on a trailer. Make sure it still goes through the regulator and put an inline filter as well.
