Starting problems after installing intake gaskets 92 rs Camero 305 engine
So I just recently replaced my intake gaskets because I had a bad leak in my system, I reinstalled everything and the engine wouldn't start it cranks just fine though. After some messing around I noticed that my distributor was malfunctioning and got a new one to replace it. I installed it correctly made sure it wasn't 180° out and lined up with cylinder #1 tried starting the car again and it cranked but didn't start and it stuttered and shot up smoke from the intake gasket. I checked my spark plugs with a light and they work and my engine was at TDC, also I made sure I heard the fuel pump prime. I'm pretty sure it's related to the tbi tho but I'm kinda at a lost right now as to what the problem could be. any advice helps!

Retrace all your steps and make sure everything is plugged back in. You saw smoke from the gaskets or a backfire through the TBI? Double check distributor alignment and be ready to dial in base timing with EST unplugged.

You sure you're on the compression tdc stroke?

I'm going to guess that this isn't in a "Camero", whatever that is. Whatever it is, this forum isn't for that; it's for 82-92 Firebird and Camaro. We'll give you the benefit of the doubt for the moment though and just assume that you can't correctly copy the word "Camaro" off of all the labels all over the car.
That's not what he asked. The question was
Since there are 2 instances of #1 TDC per engine cycle, only 1 of which is firing, just being "at TDC" isn't good enough. If you have the dist installed wrong, with the rotor sending spark to the #1 cyl on the other instance of its TDC, which is the end of the exhaust stroke and the beginning of the intake stroke, the fresh air/fuel charge in the intake manifold right above the partially opened intake valve, will light off; and you'll get a loud pop, puff of smoke, etc. out of the TB. Kind of exactly what you've got.
Make sure you're on the compression TDC stroke for the #1 cyl, re-stab the dist with the rotor pointing to the #1 plug wire (should be the one just to the driver's side from straight ahead), and try again.
