Vacuum Leak or Normal?

92 Camaro RS 305 TBI

Im having a high idle issue.
I used smoked machine through brake booster hose & im getting smoke through the throttle body, right by IAC valve..
It’s the only place I’m seeing smoke.
Is this normal? — throttle body has new gasket.

Re: Vacuum Leak or Normal?

Yes, b/c the IAC valve is partially open, smoke can/will pass right through it.

Thanks for the response.
I guess Vacuum leak isn’t the issue.
I’ll look into replacing the IAC valve & see if that changes anything.

Re: Vacuum Leak or Normal?

How about TESTING the IAC?

Connect a scan tool, find out what the computer wants you to know.
