Vacuum Leak Throttle Body Area

Seems like I have a very very small vacuum leak in the throttle body area. I can hear a slight whistle and seems like it runs just a tiny bit rough at idle.

I sprayed carb cleaner around the area hoping to find it. no change

then i used a smoke machine and the only place smoke was coming out of wasaround the TPS and around where the coil spring is on the other side of the throttle body where the cables hook in.

So i guess i have 3 questions.

1. are those leaks normal? if not are there seals or orings behind that stuff?

2. Even if those area are not normal to leak since it is a speed density car shouldnt that not matter because it is before the plenum?

3. Is there anything in that area that is prone to leaks?

thanks

Prolly the Vbelt drive setup... sorry I just gotta...
Sounds like the throttle shaft hole is worn a bit. Not a massive deal unless your a MAF car. It can be fixed with shaft bushings and a reamer.
These cars aren't the smoothest running machines.

Re: Vacuum Leak Throttle Body Area

or you might be hearing the iac, the iac gets vacuum through the plenum and fresh air through a hole in the center of the throttle body.
