How much are you other TBIers paying for insurance?

Ithink I'm getting screwed over by my insurance agency (Cotton States) I'm under 25 (I know, that doesn't help much) but I have a clean record except for a failure to yeild the right of way and a seatbelt violation and a speeding ticket that was totally dismissed due to a screwed speedometer. so that wont even count. But still, I'm paying over $800 every six months for insurance and another $50-80 for gas and it's making it really hard for me to get enough money for mods and food! Between gas in insurance I'm paying over $2500 a year. Because my insurance is so high, I cant afford to get insurance on my GTA so I cant really leave the driveway with it, and since my RS is more reliable I MUST drive it instead! So, am I getting screwed here? How much are you paying?
Please dont delete this! It's still kinda dealing with TBI

Looks like I could be saving some money here. What insurance agency are you using? Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my insurance is full coverage.
It's stupid to me that I could get a bigass 300+ horsepower Chevy truck and only have to pay $200 every six months while my little anemic 170 horsepower Camaro is costing me 4 times as much.
It's all because of those retards out there who cant or refuse to drive right.

That 600 bucks every 6 months is for full coverage. It's through a local Nationwide Insurance agent. The guy is a friend of the families, maybe I'm getting a deal, I don't know.

I'm 21, now with a completely clean record, and pay $350 per 6 months. It was $544 every 6 months when I was 20 and had one totaled car on my record. I'm in Missouri and go through American Family. Unfortuantly, it's only liability($50,000-$100,000-$50,000). I found that even with a $500 deductable for full, I would spend more money on the insurance w/ full coverage than they would give me for the car if I totaled it!!!!

65/per month. But im 22 and married (which cut mine in half) See if you can add the other cars a secondary drivers. I have 2 91 RS camaros. One as a primary driver which is 65 a month and one that is secondary which is 45 a month. My agent said with it being a secondary car my age doesn't sfect the price.

I'm getting ripped off!

I am currently driving an 84 Escort, 1.6L for the harsh MN winters, and I pay $217 per month, liability! I called Progressive to find out what they will want for my Camaro, they quoted me at $400 mo for full coverage, I'll have to check what it is for liability. I am on risk, and Progressive is the only Insurance Co. that will take me.

Here is my record:
07/14/1999 Speeding
01/01/2000 Traffic Device/Sign
03/25/2000 Minor Moving Violation
04/28/2000 Not At Fault Accident, but other driver had no Insurance!
01/21/2001 Speeding
04/27/2001 Improper Passing

Last time I checked, it was about $30 a month, full coverage, through State Farm for my '90 Formula. That was before I dropped insurance and parked it for 14 months. Clean record, multi-car discount, and I have life insurance through them so more discounts. It should be a little less for my '88 and '89 when I bring them back online.

Still, insurance is a crock. I'm 32, and I'll be able to insure 3 thirdgen cars for the price of what one of you younger guys is sweating to do just one. :hail:

my girlfriend ispaying $55 a month on her '91 Firebird for liability. She's had two tickets in almost three years, is eighteen, and has a good student discount. Funny thing is her insurance policy dropped by $50 when she got the Firebird as opposed to the '88 Thunderbird

You guys are driving me insane! I pay $184 a month full coverage, I'm still on parents policy, have all the discounts, 18 with a spotless record. It gets worse, my younger sister has different company ( 'cuz of way too many accidents ) she drives a truck ( so she can take out more innocent people ) and here insurance is less than mine. Plus should I get in an accident, even if it is not my fault, the company will drop me from the policy, period. They tried already because I drive a "high performance" vehicle, aka bone stock TBI RS, but couldn't kick me and my sister off at the same time. And they call themselves a prefered insurance company .

Doe sanybody else have Cotton States? I hate them. I found out today that they've gone up on my insurance AGAIN! Now it's a little over $900 every 6 months! And I have a $1000 deductible!
Im tired of this. I need to find a new insurance company. I thought I could get a discount or something cause ALL our insurance has always been through their company! Shows how much they care.....

I used to carry collision, it would be like another 80 bucks on each car, with a $100 dollar dectable.

I've had one accident where I slid my cavalier out of the road, just dented the fender. Cops never knew about it, but I turned it in to my insureance, my insureance still fell the next bill.

I also have one speeding ticket on my record, 19 miles over the speed limit.

I paid about 110 a month for full coverage with just my camaro, but then I got a dodge neon for a daily driver, then my insurance actually dropped to 100 a month for both cars. That is because I am 19 and my primary car is the neon which I don't have full coverage on, then the "occasional use" car is the camaro which I do have full coverage on. Go figure, add a car, save some money! What are these insurance companies thinking?

When I was on my permit driving my dads 88 Suburban 454 they had me paying 1200 a year cuz "its and SUV" In 88 they didnt know whut SUV was. I am trying to find my own insurance ( I am paying that under my dad) Most places want to rape me with a big old 2500 a year! Oh well whutcha gonna do, the price for love right?

It sounds like F body cars are hit pretty hard, especially if your young. There is hope though. My 92 costs $302/ year full coverage. But then I'm 47 with a clean record. Seems like you either have to get married or get older or both. By the way the car is just as much fun for me as it is you guys.

I pay $112 every six months through state farm for liabilty. I have my jetski and Jeep insured with them too, so I get some extra discounts, and I have a clean record(lots of tickets, just not on my current record). I live in Oklahoma, and I'm unmarried and 26 yrs old. You guys are getting raped!

Anybody else here from GA? What are your rates?
Im under my parents insurance policy and I have a good student discount, a pretty clean record (failuer to yield and seatbelt) and I took that defensive driving class and I'm still paying almost $2000 a year! The thiong that pisses me off is that my dad wont let me get my own insurance somewhere else! I say, if I'm paying for it I should be able to choose who I'm paying it to! He doesn't see it like that. I cant do anything to my car because every last penny goes to insurance (and gas and women, but that's not the point).
Can somebody recommend a good insurance company to me cause Is wear if it's the last thing I do I'm getting some different insurance. MAybe then I can insure both my cars or be comfortable with just one. State Farm looks pretty cheap. Are they pretty good when you need them? HELP!
