how are the stock LO3 heads when ported and polished?

I am just wondering if the stock heads are any good when ported or should I just find other type heads for the o'305 TBI ?
the firebird has 130K miles on it already.

I ask because I am thinking about sliding in a LT1 cam and thought why not just get the heads rebuilt and ported and the intake port matched. also what specific valve springs should I get with the Lt1 cam?thanks.

Try finding a set of L98 alum heads to go with your LT1 cam and don't wast your money on the stock heads. You would only end up with ported and polished tbi heads that still wouldn't flow as good as 305tpi heads with just a good valve job.

Yeah it would be a waste of money to port and polish the TBI heads because they wont give you that much of a difference.

Yeah, thanks a bill.

Let's just say that a pair of 305 TPI heads feel in my hands.
Should I still rebuilt them? of course I will rebuild them with stock springs, rocker, etc. but have them ported. will they still work with the LT1 cam?

Yeah they'll work but I would go with a bigger spring than stock.

OK? bigger springs. I have no clue on what type I should get. I have littler concept of springs and rockers. If any one could recommend a type of springs, it would be appreciated.
