87-up heads?

Well, I have been looking at intake manifolds, and some are 200 something - 400 SBC, and some are like 87-up SBC. Whats up with that? What happned in 87 that they require a different intake manifold?

In '87 when they went to centerbolt valve covers the intake bolt angles changed (except in the aluminum 'vette heads).

they just made teh center 2 bolt holes on each side a little more vertical to make install easier. the flange and eerything else is the same, you can take either style of intake and adapt it to the other by ovaling out the holes in the intake.
