I got my LT1 cam, preparing to install it. I was wondering to all who have degreed their cam, Was the cam correctly made? especially the LT1's.
If it wasnt then what? Throw the cam away? adjust for its errors?

 

I just degreed my LT1 today...my cam came out to spec, but if it didn't you need a set of cam degree bushings that will offset the cam 1,2,3, 5, or 7 degrees depending on the bushing. Summit or your local speed shop will carry them for $15-20 bucks. These bushings work by either advancing or retarding the cam to make up for any inconsistancies ground into the cam. My calculations gave me a number that was .5 degree off my intake centerline, which was close enough for me. I probably would have been dead on if I had more resolution in reading my degree wheel.

What is the intake centerline on an LT1 cam? I've found the LSA (116.5) and the duration and lift, but I can't find the Intake Centerline anywhere.

for some reason guys my LT1 cam didnt work well with my LO3 although i learned the hard way that i was setting my valve lash much to tight. but i dont know if there direct replacement as everyone says they are

 

Lobe centerline is 115 and I just installed my LT1 cam and it works great! Sounds alot meaner too No complaints yet...going to test it out on the 15th when the track opens.
