LT-1 Cam pin

I was reading a post just a second ago that said something about a pin in the cam off an LT-1... I am having someone else put my LT-1 cam in cause I dont trust myself to do it Anyway.. What do I need to do to the cam before I take it to him and is there anything else I need that I need to know about. I have new roller lifters and all gaskets and a new timing set but thats all... do I have to have new springs with an LT-1 cam or not? He is cutting me a REALLY good deal so I want to make it as easy as I can on him so let me know fellas...

You don't have to have new springs as NJSpeeder will tell you, but if you have alot of miles on your car it could only help. I could partly compress my springs in my hands when I took the off so I felt better replacing them. I used the K-700 's from K-motion. They work well...

As for the pin in the LT1...the LT1 cam uses a longer pin than our cars have so you either need to have him swap it, grind it off, or push it into the cam itself a little to match the old cam. But it might be smart to wait till you have the factory cam out so you don't cut off too much
