edelbrock performance package
edelbrock performance package
thinking of buying a edelbrock performance package for my305. does any one knw the kind of gains i would gain from the intake, heads, and cam combo. any one have one? i put in the specs on my dyno simulator and came up with 334 hp @5500. i know the simulator only calculates ihp so bhp would be about 267@5500 and after drivetrain loss it wld be about 235 rwhp. does that sound right? it seems kind of high for the other results i have seen for a intake cam and head combo. well i would appreciate all input.
you will do better to gt a LT1 cam. it si a roller so it will idle smoother and last longer adn it has better specs than the edelbrock cam.
i run hte edelbrock heads and i used to have their intake, i can say that they are very good pieces.
regardless of which cam you decide to go with i would suggest getting a holley 670cfm tb w/350 injectors, and when all is said and done you will want some real custom programming.

Do a search on this board. I've read that the edelbrock TBI intake stops making power after 4500 rpm. I've heard pretty good things about the heads, however, the cam specks are real tame, and aimed much more at bottom end torque rather than upper rpm horsepower. IMHO, and if I had the money, I would go with a Comp cam. I don't though, so I picked up an LT1 cam, which should be one of the best power improvements for the money, and a better choice than edelbrocks cam. I also plan on a new intake. BTW, if you plan on buying a Holley 670, keep in mind the Edelbrock intake bores are only 1 11/16", so you'll lose some of what you should gain because of the 2" bores on the Holley. I'm planning on either using the Holley TBI intake (2" bores) or a dual plane performer w/ adapter plate.
