I know you just did your lt1 cam swap. How did you mill down the dowel pin on the cam, and how much metal was removed. I won an lt1 cam on ebay the other day. I am looking for heads and an intake before I do the swap. I want to prep the cam now though.

I think he used a regular hack saw and cut it all off. I also bought an LT1 cam and need to do the same thing. I think there is a way to check his posts. Or try a search under something like "cam swap day 1" and so on, and you should be able to find it.

What really needs to be done is a tech article on this swap!!!

Yeah, I used a hacksaw. I tried to get it as close to the same size as the stock L03 cam as possible. Worked perfectly. The peice of metal isn't very strong, so it really doesn't take much to cut it off.

cool I was thinking that the metal on the camshaft was going to be like tool metal. I figure that I can cut it down or grind it down using an air cutter tool. I cut through some tack welds in a matter of minutes with the air cutter tool when I did my header install. Thanks:hail:
