EXCELLENT!
Excuse my ignorance--whas is wideban?

Having the May monthly at Owens would be way cool! Especially since we had been recently talking about having a dyno day. Double check with Owen and see if May 20th would be a good day for "Thirdgen Dyno Day". Of course it does not need to be restricted to thirdgens. Is he going to have a "Dyno Day" for everybody.

We could easily make the "monthly" start at Noon or whatever go all afternoon, crank up the BBQ, or not--if we don't BBQ we could all go cruise to eats around nomal time of 5:30/6 pm, and maybe cruise to Sam's Club Sat night show right down the street.

This would also be a good day to line up Mike (1bad91Z) for any of U guys with TPI's that have been wanting to get some chip work done.

Talk to Owen and see if U can work out the details, and what he wants to do.

Wideband O2 sensor. Allows you to read the Air/Fuel ratio on the dyno for tuning purposes.

AS soon as we firm up a date and Owen figures out a price, we need to do a list of who would be interested in getting your car dynoed so Owen will know what's going on, and what time we will need to get started to accomidate everybody.

Right now we are thinking about doing it on a Sunday May 20th and making it the official May monthly meet. Owen wants to do it on a Sunday, so it will not disrupt his normal Sat business. We will probably fire up the BBQ grill--pot luck BBQ (everybody brings some eats--IE: burn some more dogs or burgers or whatever) Just make an all day affair out of it like we did with the modding party there some time back.

I am in the Army station in South Korea with a return date of Mar 10, 2007. I left Houston Mar 12 and wanted to make the Feburary meeting but that nasty weather kept me inside. I was also looking forward to seeing feloow 3rd Gen at the Christians High School car show, but that was also postpone. Everything I tried to do before I left something beyond my control change the plans. I will be looking forward to next year and would like to get my car on the dyno since I will be sitting for a year.

stayed up last night helping get the last few things put together on the dyno. I think the sunday will work great , it would be very relaxed and easy for people to be able to come without most of us having work and so forth

I guess we need to get an idea of who/ how many will be doing it, to figure out what time we need to get started to accomidate everybody???

If U want to Dyno your car--Please post here in this thread

Is that WITH the wideband O2? If so then it is a REALLY good price and I am VERY interested.

the wideban will be xtra , but the charge wont be bad. the 3 pulls is mainly for if you want to tune a little bit on your timing and fuel pressure and maybe spray it if gas in on whoevers car choses so

Maybe you can ask how much. My car feels like it is missing a lot of power on top but it is hard to figure out what is going on while I am driving it. So a wideband pull might give me some clues as to what is going on.

wow, good deal! Refresh my memory, where is your shop at?
And as for wideband, how much extra? I need to tune at two boost levels adn dial in my timing. Plus I'd like to see how much power it makes on a Dynojet (240whp on Mustang dyno...but someone told me they read low or weren't accurate?). If you guys can stand the sound of a 2.4L at WOT through an open downpipe...I wanna join in

Hey Fbod--to bring U up to speed--Owen is the guy that owns ARD--that just got the dyno. Jay/xtremeirocz is a very good friend of his and he isbasically acting as a liasion in this deal getting it all set up with the thirdgenners.

Owen

I posted Owen's addy in the "private installer's index" thread stickied at the top of the page if U ever need to refer to it again.

What would he charge for dyno runs normally? I'd like to stop by this sat and dyno on my way to the spring fling if possible.

Thanks,

I'll be in town for this, so sign me up.

Now that I have Mike's (1Bad91Z) tune in the car with stock base timing and fuel pressure, i want a comparison check against the "3rd gen wisdom" of boosting them both up a bit.

TTT!

Seriously considering re-dialing the cam to find out where my power loss is going, I may do it before the dyno day... depending on how lazy I am.

Would a 4th Gen be allowed

Hey Guy's,

A friend at work has a late model Transam, would he be allowed to come along and Dyno on the Sunday? He does run it at HMP.

In a PM from Owen:

Start at 10am till we get done. That way we can cook BBQ at lunch time etc.

The wide band is $15.00 extra that includes us welding in an exhaust bung in place with ss plug.

Thanks,

Owen

OK, I'm up for that...but I won't need the exhaust bung. I already have 4 too choose from, just pull one of the existing O2's since I'll be running open loop anyway.

I also want to run with and without my y-pipe. It's a 2 minute job to drop it...even if putting it on again does take a little longer. I have long suspected that my exhaust is holding me back...now maybe I'll find out for sure.

I am going to run with and without my cutout open to find out the same thing.

Ok, I wanna run with wideband, but my setup wouldn't allow for an o2 bung to be welded in. Do you guys have a probe the way most dynos do (the magic wand thingy)? I also need to know if you fellas have the boost monitoring option as well. My new setup will be in by then, and I'lll have to play with the engine load and boost timing retard a bit.

Yeah, I want the wide-band option, with the bung-hole welded in. I've not dyno'd before, so somebody clue me in here. The typical dyno sheets I've seen show HP and Torque graphed out against RPM. The wide-band measures Air/Fuel ratio ( or residual O2?) , and this would be a third plot across RPM?
