Car stumbles and backfires now...

I put my IROC on my friend's, and it was running lean all the time. We did the obvious and changed the o2 sensor. Well, now it is starting hard and it stumbles like it wants to cut off when you first put it in drive right after it cuts on. After you get in second gear, its fine, and it won't stumble again, even if you stop at a light. It's also started to backfire. WTF is wrong with my baby???!!! LottaBallsCamaro thinks it might be something with the TPS.

On your friend's WHAT? If I were you, I'd get it off there before you're minus one friend.

Start with some basics, like checking vacuum lines (including the PCV system and brake booster). Check fuel pressure. Check the A.I.R. system plumbing and diverter valve. Check the EGR. Clean the throttle body and I.A.C., then set minimum air and TPS.

I may have misinterpreted your description in the original post, but if I read it corectly, you are going into DRIVE right after the engine starts (cuts on). Allow your engine to warm up for about thirty seconds after starting before putting it in gear - unless you want another one parked due to a spun bearing. Just because the gauge shows oil pressure doesn't mean you have good oil FLOW.

Okay, maybe I should have read my post before I posted it. The car was on a scanner. And yes, I do wait for about a minute after the car starts to put it in gear. And then I put it in Overdrive, unless I'm backing up of course, and it stumbles. And actually, it didn't do it this morning. It did it 3 or 4 times yesterday though.
