Vette Question, Yea I know it isn't a 3rd gen, but it is a L98 related question.

I just bought a 89 Vette M6. While changing the spark plug wires last night I tore the wire out of some sensor on a metal tube which comes off the pass exhaust manifold and runs up to the distributer area. It is wrapped in heat shield and has what looks to be some kind of temp sensor sticking out the top of it right over the rear of the pass valve cover. Anyone know what that sensor is? I can't replace it if I Don't even know what it is called. Thanks.

I'll take a stab at this, although I've never seen a vette engine of the year before. Since the corvette heads had no egr crossover, they had to plumb the exhaust. If you think it looks like a temp sensor, it may be something having to do with the egr itself, such as the egr temp sensor.
