Need Oil Help!!!
I have to change my oil tomorrow cause I might need to take the car back up to college.
The thing is Wal-Mart only had 15W-50 Mobil 1 and no AC Delco filters, so I got a SuperTech one.
My first question, will this weight oil be ok for me, the weather has been in the upper 80s-90s lately but it's supposed to cool off into the 50-60s for next week.
Also, is the Super Tech filter ok, I didn't want to go with Fram, but there were no AC Delco ones there.

That's the only place open now, plus it was the 5qt container, and after working there for 4 yrs, I guess you get used to buying from them.

The wal-mart filters are way better than fram, about as good or as good as AC's. 15w40 will be just fine. You won't have any low temp pumpability problems since it's synthetic.

Hey Mark, I say.....Go for it. I heard that a thicker oil makes the Hooker Cat Back Systems sound better..LOL
. j/k man. Honestly, I think the oil would be ok. And the filters are ok too. I've used them several times myself even though I prefer AC.

Leave it be. 15-50 M1 is fine for almost EVERY application. It's pour point and low temp pumpability is better than conventional 5-30wt. oils. This data from Mobil product data sheet: 5-30wt. conventional Mobil pour point -33 degF, Mobil 1 15-50 syn. pour point -55 deg.F. This weight is also better because the base stock is heavier and will not be as subject to shearing as a lighter oil would.
