Will This Help Me Keep Cool??
I had car shop order me a top and lower fan shroud, for about $90.
I'm hoping this should keep me cool for the hot summer weather sitting in traffic. I only have the small fan shroud from the electric fan, which isn't hardly anything. I'm using a mechanical fan now.
So, should this help me out some?

it should help you, but only in slow traffic or idling. in order for the shroud to work properly the fan must be located about the center of the opening. if it is completly ahead or behind, you won't be able to create that region of low pressure. you should also have between 1/2 to 1 inch of clearance around the fan. tighter is better, but when your engine twists under torque, you don't want to listen to the plastic grind.

That's the only time I need cooling help is sitting in traffic for like 10 mins on a 90* day, every other time is fine. Right now as it is, my fan sits above the radiator a little, not sure why.

Does anyone think the lower shroud part will be necessary, it's $40 like the top piece will be.???

Mark I think the lower part connects to the upper part..at least that is how mine is. I took the radiator and shroud off a 84 firebird. I my engine runs about 180, hot or cold.
