VIN Decoder

I just used the Vin Decoder on my car and here is what I cam up with.

Made in: United States
Manufacturer: General Motors
Make: Chevrolet
Carline Code: F-Body
Carline Series: Sport Coupe, Z28
Body Type: 2 door coupe
Engine Code: 305 ci V8 LG4 (1985-1986)
5 is the CHECK DIGIT.
Model Year: 1986
Assembly Plant: Van Nuys
Production Sequence: i46900

A couple of questions. My Car does not say z28 anywhere on it. How do I know it is a z28? Also where it says LG4 next to the engine what does that mean? Anyhelp would be apprecatied.

From: Mt. Home, ID
Car: 1986 IROC
Engine: 305 going to 355
Transmission: 700R4
Your RPO codes (should be a sticker in your center console glove box) will tell you whether it is a Z28 or not. LG4 is an engine code for the model of 305 you got. I have the same thing, it is the weak 5.0 liter engine.
