started one morning when i noticed on the gauge overheating, had an end cap that cracked,so repaired radiator, and waould still overheat when not moving, due to fan/fans not coming on unless AC was on max, changed 2 sensors, and changed plugs, now today for test drive, noticed no movement from gauge at all?????don't know if ran long enuf to get hot enough for fans,no temp. gauge??if gauge not work, does ecm know???seems like alot of work for nothing, just another problem??

breaking something else while fixing one thing is a #1 reason why I enjoy taking my car to the mechanic. He breaks it, he fixes it!!! It's a lovely arrangment!
But yes, it absolutely sucks. I swear! They design this stuff like that on purpose.
One day I was changing my oil on a 92 Grand Prix...the filter is right next to the Oil Pressure sending unit...which is very, very plastic and fragile.
I just bumped it and the F*cker broker off! So a little oil change cost me an additional $30.00.

heh, I know just what you mean. It may just be my dumb ***, but I break stuff half the time I'm fixing other stuff. Its kindof ghetto, but when I broke my temp guage sending unit, I reattatched it with a paperclip. On mine its on the front of the driver side head.

I had hooked mine up with an alligator clip and a jumper wire for a couple of weeks until I finally decided to buy another connector.
