Making '82 Z28 hood into ram air?

Just found one at the junkyard for cheap and I was curious if I opened those two tiny fake scoops if it would flow enough to support my 400HP 383? I doubt it, but just wanted to make sure. Hey, they were good enough for a 160HP CFI 305 right?

Thanks

I'm not sure but I thought someone told me once that all 82 Z hoods where fiberglass or some of them where or something like that. But if this one is don't do any cutting to put a scope on or anything.
If you do need more air flow built a scoop for the front below the nose cone. I think that's how the Grand Nationals where if not there was an aftermarket air scoop available there.
Good Luck

Yes you can make a ramair system out of it. I have that hood stock on my LU5 CFI 82 Z-28. I am going to build a system using a K&N X-Stream filter top and build a box out of stock sheet metal around the air cleaner sealed to the hood, then i'm gonna hook up the flaps some how. I am also going to add dual cold intake snorkels that go to where the battery was and where the charcoal canister was. It should be a really nice setup if get around to doing it.
