They are shaped like a fat "U", and go from one side of the car to the other.

I've never heard of a 3rd gen without a front sway bar, but it is linked to the lower control arm on each side by a long bolt with rubber donuts on each end. It is held onto the frame rail on each side by a rubber bushing with a flat metal U-clamp with two bolts to the frame rail.

The rear bar is smaller in diameter, and runs along the bottom of the rear axle. It's held to the axle with similar rubber bushings, and each end is held to the body by the long bolts w/rubber donuts like the front, to a bracket on the body behind the wheelwell.

Hope that helps. My V6 car didn't have the rear sway bar, but the one on the V8 donor car lives there now.

Yep, just look under your rear axle, if there's a bar under it that runs from left to right, that's a sway bar. Similar one is under the front. Go to http://www.summitracing.com and go to the chassis section, and look up swaybars, they must have pics there.
