sound during acceleration

Engine: 350
Transmission: TH350
sound during acceleration
i'm getting a pinging like sound while accelerating... i know its not ping..........from playing with the timing..and vac adv....some say its an exhaust leak... i've brought it to 5 exhaust shops and they all say there are no leaks............while the car is idleing.. in gear or not....i hear a LOUD!! ticking sound from the back of the motor.....when i'm driving ..all i hear is a loud ping like sound..bouncing off the houses.. while i'm accelerating... the minute i get off the gas..bam.....its gone.... i hate driving my car .. i cant stand it ............thats all i hear in the car is PINGING...like.. from the pass..side.........................WTF...this is really getting at me.........

I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING...
on my edelbrocks.. i took the check valves off the old manifolds.....then put them on the headers...and just used...some high temp hose to connect them... maybe its the sound of the check valves..going CRAZY..
HMM...???
