Difference between A/C compressor for stick or automatic?

I need to get a new A/C compressor and clutch assembly, and when I went to the parts store, they said if would be $120 for one for a car with a manual transmission, and $190 for one with an auto. They were both for the same motor, car, and everything else, but the trannies were different. Is there actually a difference in these parts, and if so, what? They didn't have either one in stock, so I couldn't look at them.

I'm surprised that there is actually a difference. I'd be curious as to exactly what it is.
