hardend pushrods or not
hardend pushrods or not

Short anser: Vader's right.
SR/Torquers are like stock heads. There'a an oval-shaped hole drilled/machined into the head that the pushrod passes through that also provides lateral control on the pushrod. Cast iron will not wear down a steel pushrod (hardened or not).
If, however, you have clamped some steel guide plates under the S/R's screw-in rocker arms studs, then you should either:
1. Remove them. You only want one device to center the pushrods, never two, that could "fight" against eachother.
2. Install hardened pushrods.
Steel guideplates will literally eat throught non-hardened pushrods in only a few thousand miles.
