prob with LG4

Ive got an 84 LG4 and its haveing MAJOR problems. my RPM's used to peak at about 5700, but now they peak at 3500, then it hessitates, then 4500, hestitates, then 5000 top. When it hesitates is lags almost like i took my foot off the gas. I think its either no spark, air/fuel, or mayby even a tranny slip. im very confused

Sounds like classic clogged fuel filter symptoms. Fuel filter ont he QJet car is located int eh nose of the carb just behind where the fuel line goes in. Take off the fuel line, then unscrew the big nut behind it and th fuel filter will pop out followed by a spring. Put in a new filter and reassemble just like it came apart. The fuel line nut (the smaller one) is often difficult to unscrew from the bigger nut and requires a line wrench (crow's foot wrench) to get undone and even then it's rounds-off 75% of the time and requires vice-grips to get off.

Taking thi opportunity to simply remove the stock filter and patch in a nice in-line fuel filter in the fuel line can make future filter changes just that much easier.

Change your fuel filter, check to see if the cat is clogged, check the condition of your plug wires. That's a start. Also, go to the tranny board and do a search for transfixleo's method of adjusting the TV cable.
