Replace Fuse, Stereo won't work

Well I have had problems with my car latley, besides for the wreck. Well It kept blowing the Accesory fuse so I wasn't able to listen to the radio. I finally tracked it down to the ciggarette lighter and unpluged it. I put a new fuse in, and everything works now except my stereo. It has power because it will eject a CD, but won't turn on or play anything???? Does anyone have any ideas??? I already checked the wiring and it appears to all be in good shape.

Are the power wires or accessory wires grounded anywhere? What kind of deck do you have? I used to have an old school, basic Pioneer deck, that had no internal protection whatsoever. I blew a couple of fuses in my remote turn-on wire before I found a spot in the wire where the insulation had rubbed off, but by that time it was too late. The last time it shorted and popped the fuse, it fried something in the deck. It would turn on and function fine, but there was no signal coming out of it. I don't know what it blew, but the preouts to my subs wouldn't even work. Hope this isn't what happened to you.

if you have a aftermarket deck then check the inline fuses on the wires. also, some radios have small fuses in the back of them. check to see if you have any and if so see if there blown out. do yo uhave a reset button. make sure you put the same number fuse back in.

Nope all of the fuses are in order. I took the deck out and hooked it up to a 12v battery to test it. When I did that it worked fine So I know it is something in the car. Does the power wire run the ciggarette wire by any chance??? This is really confusing me and I have basically run out of ideas.

you are going to have ot track the wires back to the fuse block.
