Ticking noise

hey guys, I've got a ticking noise in the engine compartment, I'm pretty sure its the water pump, anyways how much should I expect to pay for a new aluminum one, and aslo, what would the weight savings be??

Thanks for any info

You're lookin at about $90 or so. Are you sure it's the pump. Never heard of them making a noise. Could be a collapsed lifter or an exhaust leak, but then you shouldn't notice the noise by the water pump.

there shouldn't be that much of a weight savings with an aluminum water pump, just if it's more flow, than it will run cooler all together. More flow=more go!

Plenty of people and they in addition to anyone else will tell you that they are definately race-only deals. the motor won't last very long on a daily driver.......

The engine will lose some power, not sure how much, but it'll be drivable.

Electric water pumps are for racing applications only.

I'm working on finding an exhaust leak right now, it's pissin me off, I've checked the connections to the y-pipe and all seems tight, and that's where the noise sounds like it's coming from. Not too mention I suck at working on cars.
