I've redesigned the hatch seal since that pic was taken. That one sealed against the glass but I didn't like the lift shock area. I now have a sheet of aluminum attached to the hatch itself and it comes down and seals against that rubber seal.

It's attached to the side of the car with Manus body sealer.

It goes through the first tech inspection of the season this afternoon. I don't see having any problems.

Man... that looks great: thumbsup:
Hope you dont mind if I copy your idea. Mine will be two boxes to clear the ladder bar frames. The plate on the hatch is a good idea also... glad I seen the pic.

There's another pic on my web site looking down from the other side. A Holley blue pump is down there also.

What you can't see is how I mounted the fuel cell. The threaded rod that holds the brackets goes through the firewall and then angled down into the floor. Every side of sheet metal has fender washers and nuts holding it all in place.

Great pics
You have the same ladder set up that I have right down to the axle. Mine is cut to 41" with Strange 31 spline . And I am going with coilover shocks. Have no floor or rear framerails left. Wish I had pics.

:hail: One hell'va ride there... maybe someday we'll race!

My ? is if I were to just put a cell in the trunk area, would that be NHRA Legal? It would also be mounted correctly too. Anyone every thought of putting it where the spare goes? You should be able to get a decent size in there.

Mine past a tech inspection today. You just have to have it sealed from the drivers compartment. When my rear hatch closes, it seals against the rubber on the firewall.

Forget the name of the company, but there is a company that makes fuel cells to fit in place of stock fuel tanks. I'll try to look it up for you.
