finally found a 355

Hello, i've found a 1985 355 4bolt .. can anyone give me an estimate?? on how much horsepower this things got.? it has 327 heads 202.....................

i'd say over 500, but it's just a WAG since you didn't provide many details or specs about the engine

yeah i'm sorry about the "non-specs" i'm gonna dig a little bit ..and find out .. i know it has a cam that was made for towing... i dont know how much that is going to hurt....

boring a 350 .030" over (355) will do exactly nothing for power. not without good heads and a cam. being you said it has 327 heads it could possibly have some decent power to it. but if it in fact does have a towing cam then don't expect it to make any power over say 5000rpm if it even goes that high. but on the other hand, it is probably safe to say that you could get a good neck snapping from a dead stomp from all the low end torque. it all depends on the parts it was built with.

thanx for the post, ya know i am after that neck snapping acceleration. I know most of you guys on here like that high end and everything but... i honestly just mash the gas until 60 and back off..... i'm just looking for some serious pull.....

but i am thinking about bringing it to the 1/8 track next year.
