reverse/brake lights not working
reverse/brake lights not working
i swapped a T-5 in my car last week. i now have 350 tpi with a 5speed. car is running great but my back up lights and brake lights arent working. Do they run off the same switch on the tranny and if so how do i make the lights work again. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

The brake lights don't. There's a switch above the brake peddel for that. The brake lights kind'a' shares the blinkers up in the steering wheel. The switch is such, that the brake light is disable on the side that the blinker is flashing on.
The backup light I think ran off the shifter, and shares the same connector heading to the rear of the car with the blinkers(Right & Left), brakes, parking lights, hatch, fuel sender, & fuel pump.
Off hand, I can't remember if they share the same power source.
I think you can check the orange wire above the brake paddel for 12v. You might see two switches above the brake. The one your looking for is the one that has a orange & white wire going to it. The other switch I think is for the cruise control.

try in the shifter
Try in the shifter, b/c i can move my shifter back and forth just a CM and it will make the reverse lights go on and off b/c ithink i have a loose wire or not a tight shift point
