Tech ?s For 350

I am going to be installing a cam into my 350, cause all I have is the stock cam off the old 305. What sort of cam can I buy, that will fit this engine? Will I need new lifters, or can I simply have them adjusted? I am looking for something appropriate for steet/strip. I'm not sure of the exact size of the one i have now, all I know is that it is the stock cam off my 85 TA. What sort of Hp boost will I get(I'm thinking that is is around 20)? I'm going to be making the purchase soon, I just want to get the right thing. Specs are in the sig below. Thnx

Your best bet is to call an actual cam manufacturers tech line and they'll ask you a ton of car related questions to help picka cam that will work with your set up. DO NOT call Summit or Jegs hotline cause they will just say "oh that'll work" and bill you for the cam. I just went through this this month so I know. Called Lunati and they told me a tottaly different cam set-up and WOW this weekend has been a blast with the new motor. They will reccomend changing valve springs, and push rods are cheap so just do them to. Three weeks ago I did a cam swap in my old 305 (all new valve train and the parts were only $200 or so.) Then I huffed it next morning hence the 355 that went in last Wed. night

You have to get new lifters. Depending on the engine milage, it might be a good idea to get a new timing chain too. I'd say you'll get more HP than 20 with a correctly matched cam.

With my setup people on here recommended the Comp 268XE.
