taking engine out, need help

I've got a 84 2.8. Threw a rod. Putting in a 2.8 from an s10. I want to by pass the computer and use NO emissions. What harness do I cut out for all the emissions and computer sensors etc? I'm going to use the carb and dizzy from the s10. Also, do you just take the computer out and put the wires into eachother?

thanks,
Jon

84 has the computer controlled carb. not much too the computer control that year. to bypass the computer, replace the carb, the distributor (go with a mechanical advance one), and wire something up for the transmission torque converter lock (auto trannies only). car will run if you leave the stock electronically controlled distributor on the block, but you'll have poor performance since there will be no ignition advance.

might consider swapping in one of the mpfi 2.8L engines, or one of the mpfi 3.1L engines. would get better performance, and decent gas mileage too.
