header cooling

So my plug boots are melting when I idle (no air flow) and it looks like I'm going to buy some sleeving for them but I got to thinking about putting a small electric fan (8"?) over each header and having them run all the time. Don't rip me a new one here, I was just having a thought...

Not only would it cool the headers and keep them from melting my boots but it would also remove hot air from under the hood by blowing it at the ground. I could even put a shroud around the fans that cover the headers completely, it might even look trick if done right. What do you all think?

There's a Header Jacket kit right out of Jeggs for $74.99
Can be installed with the headers on.
Part# 893-11248

I was thinking about getting these myself.

hmm there's even a neat header blanket for $75.99 #893-14003

I wonder if using both of these would kick but. I'll would probably try the jackets first.

Forget the fan, those puppie would draw alot of amps, and do nothing if it can't get a fresh clean cool air supply.

Don't get header wrap, they cause more problems than positives.
I got some Spectre Fyrebraid Heat Sleeving for $12 a pack, you'll need 2. Fits 7-9mm wires and protects up to 1400*. Haven't had any problems , wire looms help a lot too. If you want a pic, I can post one.

Can you elaborate of the header jackets with Pros/Cons.

I’m thinking about getting these. I would like to keep the under hood temps down myself.
Aside from a $300 header coating, why are wraps trouble.

if you got some cash you can send them away to get jet hot coated. people with corvettes like this coating because it reduces the underhood temp, so it dosnt warp the fibreglass....
