Help! Engine won't start.
Help! Engine won't start.
I was driving right after the rain yesterday and my engine suddenly stopped and never fired up again.
I figured out that I dont have any spark. I'm running a Crane Hi-6 box with the matching coil. The box has a diagnostic on it. Here's what it concluded:
"One blink: Power supply fault on initial power up. This may indicate that the coil connections are directly shorted to ground. Turn the ignition switch off, disconnect the coil primary wires and temporarely tape them up. If the same fault reoccurs when the ignition switch is turned on again, the Hi-6 has failed."
So I disconnected the wires and taped them up, separetly, and the diagnostic returned to normal. So the box isint the problem. I checked all the coil connections and they are all fine. It worked before!!!
What could it be??
Thanks,
Nik

I would check for moisture in the cap...it might have a crack in it . Although you usually get some spark..do you have power to the dist.?

little tip from a guy that had the Ignition problem you got :
"Okay I finally figured out why the TR model decides to hiccup during cranking. With a point in the right direction from Scott Stanley at Crane, he got me thinking about the problem in a new light.
Scott told me to hook up the TR **** red wire to constant 12 volts (instead of switched 12). But Scott offered no reason as to why it would work. He just heard it helped. So on a drive home, I pondered
The problem : during cranking, SOME switched 12 volt sources DISAPPEAR"
