Can I rip this crap out?

85 Z28 with new 350 carb setup. Had 305 with TPI. I've already taken off the A/c stuff now wondering about cruise control? Also the vapior can. From what I can tell its not hooked up to anything. What is that round ball under the car on drivers side?Looks like something for the cruise? Can this be taken out also? Just trying to clean up engine compartment a little. Anything else that I would not need?

cruise can all come out. Canister/evap equipment can come out but is illegal for emissions reasons. "ball" is vacuum source tank that helps accessories like a/c, cruise, etc. Sounds like you don't need it anymore though.

Hay thanks. With emissions I wont have to worry I think. Still have the old smog pump and lines. If nothing is going to the damn can then why have it in there? If I need I'll put it back. Then I'll be taking off old headers. Replace with new Hookers. No ****y tubes to get in the way.

vapor can

Nothing from the smog pump goes to the can. There is a line from the the fuel tank, to vent, and one from the can to the carb/tpi to help burn off some fumes. If the car is running then the carb/tpi end is plugged. You may want to check to see what they did with the tank vent line. Don't think you'd want fumes under the passenger area of the car. Best suggestion I've seen, and did on a Chevy P/U was put a $.99 inline filter at the end of the line with another piece of hose to the most forward underneath point, away from heat.
