My girlfriend rocks, but not sure of gift

My girlfriend decided to buy me some equipment for the camaro! She is kick @ss. Only one problem, or question, how close is the clearance of 1.6 roller rockers and a comp cams 268 cam under a set of stock height valve covers?

She bought me a new engine stand(since my old one sucks), braided hose sleeving, an engine dress up kit (hence the valve cover question), and a two year subscription to CHP. Awesome or what? Now I just have to get the engine built to use the stuff. Not a new camaro but the most practical gift for a guy like me yet.

Thanks in advance for the answers

the 1.6 rockers will most likely whack the stock covers, also you will more then likely need to enlongate the pushrod holes if your using stock heads, otherwise go 1.5 and you wont have any worrys,..well you may still need the tall valve covers,

I'm going to need to see some pictures of this girlfriend to make a more informed decision.

lol. A 268XE and 1.6 RR is a bit much for stock heads to handle isn't it guys?

Tite,

TPI's request for photos may have been a little out of line, and we apologize for his behavior.

I, however, would like some further, more technical information. I'll just stick to the numbers:

What is her height/weight/vital measurements?

What is her phone/cell number?

Got an address?

How about age?

What is the number of sisters she has, identical or not?

Seriously though, I've seen some of those dress up kits, and the rocker covers tend to be stock height or even lower. You should be able to measure the stock covers and replacements to verify that. You'll also have to watch the gasket retention area, since some of those don't have a very deep "lip" around the flange to locate the gasket correctly. And of course the vent and filler holes are a question.

I was certainly a nice gesture. I hope you are treating her in a similar fashion, or some of those phone numbers might start getting more busy than you'd like. Then again, if she got you something to "cover your hose", maybe it's a hint...

You might want to get her something nice, like a torque converter or some SLP headers.......

Our two year anniversary is coming up and her birthday is shortly after. So, things will be compensated for then. BTW she loved the responses.

So the rockers will most likely hit? I kinda figured but I wanted more educated feedback. And mark, they are 2.02 heads so I dont think the heads will have a prob with the rockers.

Sorry guys, no twin or sister, and I am not letting her go.

Dont you wish all women thought more like her? She even wants to help build the car. :hail: NICOLE (girlfriend)

85,

Well, at least we have a first name now...

If the stock covers aren't interfering with the rockers, and the replacements are at least that tall, you should have clearance. It's easy to measure without removing anything.

I;ve removed some of the dress up covers that have had nice grooves worn through them by the short end of the rocker arms. For a while, they were a kind of "poor-man's" rev kit, I guess.
