what combo would you use to get a 427? i know 350 block + 400 crank = 383
so then what kinda crank would you need in a 400 to make 427?

thanks for the info, what crank would you suggest for a super charged 427 thats going for 800 hp? i'm starting off with a 400 ci 4.125 bore Motown block that has 4 bolt splayed ductile iron mains. any ideas?
I'm starting on a nitrous fed 427, I went with the eagle rotating assembly, forged crank, forged H beam rods, and forged JE pistons with moly rings, got the rotating assembly for $1750, I'm just waiting for the block to arive so I can start building it. I'm going with dart block and dart Pro 1 CNC Aluminum heads. I plan on running 10's on the bottle

32789RS- where are you at in IA?
Car 1-I have a stock .030 400 block, splayed caps, Callies 4.00 crank, Oliver 6" rods, JE NOS pistons, Dart IRON Eagle 230 CC's, SR cam, EDL SV intake, BG 1000 CFM & 200 HP shot of NOS. 636 FWHP w/o NOS.
Car 2- I have a .070 350 block, splayed caps, Eagle 4340 crank & rods, JE blower pistons, Dart Pro 1 230 CC, SR cam, Accel SR intake, 1000 CFM TB, Accel DFI, 72 lb. per hr MSD injectors, Vortech S trim w/10 lbs boost, NX 150 shot. HP unkown
I did run car 2 lean and hence the .070 bore. 10 lbs+NOS+not enough fuel=bad-even with JE's.

I am in CR also. Performance Concepts did all the work-machine work and assembly. Also did all the suspension tuning, cage install, Tremec 5 speed from auto swap, etc
They also wrench on my Z06.

Im also trying to get my car in the 11s. I have 5k to spend. I think I want a 383 stroker. Where can I buy it? Should I get a shortblock then add some AFR heads and a cam with huge lift? Any suggestions on where to get any of this. Money is in hand. I want to get in the 11s. I plan on putting in 411 gears a stall converter and running a carb. Supercharging is also an option if budget yields.

gtabadboy-the first thing to do is take your time. There are several factors involved to get a car into the 11 second zone.
I would encourage you to talk to some people that are already running 11 seconds or better.
One tool that I use is Dyno2000-a state-of-the-art engine simulation that combines advanced component modeling with the number-crunching power of your PC to test thousands of engine-part combinations, in just minutes! Use the Dyno2000 to easily find the best setup for your next street or racing engine project.
Then import your engine into Drag2000 to find the best gear ratios, suspension setups, shift points, and launch RPMs for drag racing, circle tracks, road courses, or auto-cross competition. You can even practice and fine-tune your reaction time and shifting skills using our full-featured starting-line and full-track simulation Full Throttle.
As far a an engine combo, adding heads and a big cam is not necessarily the recipe for success. A pump gas friendly 383 can easily top 500 HP. With good forged pistons, a shot of NOS, traction, 11's are realistic for your budget-always keep 15-20% extra $$ for those unexpected surprises that are inevitable.
I buy most parts online-look at some of the site sponsors.
